HLT.digital series brings you a workshop with Rose Aylett

For Paolo Freire (1921-1997), education is a form of dialogic inquiry through which knowledge is mediated, rather than ‘owned’ by the teacher. This interactive session will unpack what the Freirean concept of dialogic education might look like in the contemporary ELT classroom. We will explore a series of practical considerations to take into account when setting up, framing, and managing critical discussion, as well as what to do when things don’t go according to plan. Participants will be encouraged to reflect upon the application of these participatory strategies with their own learners, transforming their classrooms into sites of personal and collective inquiry that make space for social action.
