While having experience can be beneficial, it is not a mandatory condition for good teaching. The authors also delve into the negative influence negative writing experiences can have on people's attitudes towards it. Self-criticism can also impede one's ability to write. The essay stresses the importance of finding joy in writing and how external factors, such as university and school experiences, can sometimes dampen this passion.
