This article, attached to a letter discussing his piece for a book, discusses the problems with certain EFL-related MA courses and PhDs. Rinvolucri discusses the ways of training and developing ourselves as teachers, by sharing the elements that have influenced him: his father, homeschooling, teachers’ early influence, his wife`s background and his children’s teachers, his trainees and students, therapy approaches and primary school education, and his individual colleagues versus support groups.
